<p>The news was announced by his manager, Mark Carpentieri, who said the singer died at age 84 in a nursing home in the town New York. <span id="more-1263"></span></p>
<p>Knight was one of the most popular artists of his kind, coming to know with hit tracks like Beams of Heaven, Did not it rain and Up above my head.</p>
<p>During the &#8217;60s, Marie was devoted to the genre of R &amp; B, placing successful hits in the first place of radio stations.</p>
<p>His last musical work was done in 2002, while on a tribute to Sister Rosetta Tharpe, whom he partnered in the &#8217;40s and managed to become a legend. For this tribute, Knight recorded the song S hout sister, sister shout.</p>
<p>Subsequently, the MC Records recording company started production Let us get together, the first album by the artist in more than 25 year career. This production was done in tribute to the Rev. Gary Davis.</p>
