The pianist and Israeli conductor Daniel Barenboim began studying piano at age five with his parents and made his first official concert in Buenos Aires at seven, in August 1950. Barenboim family moved to Israel in 1952 and two years after the parents took Daniel to Salzburg to attend classes direction of Igor Markevitch. That same summer Barenboim met Wilhelm Furtwängler, played for him and attended some of the essays as a concert of the great conductor.
