MONTY ALEXANDER
After studying in his native Jamaica at the direction of some qualified teachers, the pianist, Monty Alexander, moved to the United States. In Miami, where he played during the course of a tour, was heard by the owner of a local jazz from New York who was fascinated by the sound of that piano transmitting the Jamaican.
In New York, and the hand of the entrepreneur, earned his first major contract, with the addition that could be revealed at the New York jazz scene at that time, the head of the American avant-garde jazz.
In the following years a trio managed to form itself, in the seventies and worked with the vibraphonist, Milt Jackson and bassist RayBrown.
