The International Jazz Festival of Peniscola is already defined the parameters of its programming, which will run throughout the month of July. The American trumpeter Miles Davis launched August 17, 1959 an album that would be a reference in the history of jazz. Tratabajo disc is “Kind Of Blue”, not the kind of jazz discs that went on to sell more copies with nearly 20 million sales. Even today continues to rise the number of weekly sales to about 5,000 approximately.
According to Jimmy Cobb, drummer of the sextet who participated, “Kind of Blue” was made in heaven. A framework not only of jazz history but also the history of music as pianist Herbie Hancock says. The album was recorded in just two sessions at Columbia Studio Recors 30th. On March 2, 1959 were made recordings of songs and on April 22 completed the LP with “Flamenco Sketches” and “All Blues”.
