This jazz with only 24 years old, Duffy may well be crowned the queen of British music. After gaining a Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album and crowned as the new best selling artist worldwide in 2008, singer Welsh has achieved three Brit Awards, the most prestigious awards in British music.
The jazzzista-pop has defied all predictions and broke the mainstream in a year that seemed dominated by Coldplay. The band singer Chris Martin and the Welsh were favorites for the Brit Awards Gala held yesterday at Earls Court in London with four nominations each.
The good news is that the hat-trick for Duffy and empty-handed to Coldplay. The Welsh singer than a year ago to balance work of assistant to his love of music, has made her debut album, ‘Rockferry’, takes three awards from the Brit Awards, Best Album, Best Female and Best New Artist .

The pianist and composer Dave Brubeck will be honored among other big stars during the awards ceremony Kennedy Center Honors in Washington.

Koko Taylor, the legendary Queen of the Blues, winning several awards and honors, died on June 3 to 80 years in Chicago due to complications from surgery he underwent last May 19 to correct gastrointestinal bleeding. Earlier that month he received his award 29: the Blues Music Award.

Until July 4, Tuesday-Saturday, the Golden Dragonfly Theater will present its already recognized Blues and Jazz Festival, in which each night will have a special guest to display their skills within the genre. Tickets are a cost of 16 thousand dollars for students and 14 thousand.
