Alfonso Gamaza

alfonsogamaza The guitarist from Cadiz, Alfonso Gamaza, self-taught, began his musical career at age 14 electric guitar bands and orchestras in your area. It was decided to change instruments and switching to electric bass most influenced by Jaco Pastorious. Attends several jazz workshops, taught by Musicians Workshop in Barcelona in Cadiz, Seville and Madrid, and teaches at the Music Workshop in Madrid with American guitarist Sean Levitt and with saxophonist Antonio Mesa Huelva. Also as a recording musician with several performances. He teaches music at school Viento de Levante adult education courses in Cadiz 95/96 and 96/97.

He has worked with numerous musicians, among which: Chano Dominguez, Tito Alcedo, Michel Camilo, Wynton Marsalis, Jerry Gonzalez,

Antonio Mesa, Guillermo McGill, Tino di Geraldo, Marc Miralta, Antonio Serrano, Jesús Lavilla, Kiko Veneno Raimundo Amador & , Jimmy Castro, Jose A, Galicia "The Gali, Peter Cortejosa, etc..

In November 2002, Alfonso Gamaza launches its first album entitled "Cambalache Jazz Club" for the label "Modern and Co." with the independent firm Cadiz "Surfonía" a play based on rhythms from their land, Alegrias, Bulerias, Tanguillos , Seguirillas, and other forms of flamenco, with a very particular merger with Jazz, which have helped some of the musicians mentioned above. On November 7 debuts at the VIII International Jazz Festival Ceuta with a septet led by Alfonso Gamaza Septet "with great success and welcome the public and the media.

With a piece of flamenco jazz drinking, Moraíto also played with Chico & Kiko Veneno Raimundo Amador and Tommy. Cambalache was the veteran Jazz Club, which, in 2002, gave name to his first album under the signature Modern & Cia.

Alfonso Gamaza died prematurely at age 50 in his hometown as a result of pancreatitis.
