Joe Lovano, Dave Douglas, Miguel Zenon, Robin Eubanks, Renee Rosnes, Matt Penman and Eric Harland genre of jazz giants, will be in the evening. The Ottawa Jazz Festival will present all these seven musicians who perform together as the SFJAZZ of San Francisco in their first collective appearance.
The fundión will be Sunday, March 1st at 8 pm. The collectivity of SFJAZZ honors and performs the music of jazz. His repertoire has included the music of John Coltrane (2005), Thelonious Monk (2006), Herbie Hancock (2007) and Wayne.

Cave houses the direct Valencian new pop group. Folk, jazz, swing, the music scene in Valencia has a new member and also comes stomping because they are not newcomers but they just return with arguably things clearer. Pop Limbotheque is yes, but spiced with jazz, folk, Eastern European music, blues, country and swing that has marked the career of this quintet of Alzira, which is already managing their tour of Spain and the release of their debut EP , which will be “a good presentation of the group,” says guitarist David Garcia.
A game of words reminiscent of “being in limbo,” says David, “and a disco, because most electronic music we did before, but decided to keep the name because we liked.” Limbotheque began in 2000 with a very sensual electronic pop that after the reunion of the founders David and singer Carol Garcia has opted more for a soft pop that achieves full strength in live. Good news: Chucho Valdés Cuban announced it will give two concerts in July in Dublin, Ireland. During a meeting with the Colombian Foreign Minister, Michael Marti, the musician explained that the actions are aimed at “raising funds for a Corda”, a cultural project carried out by Cuba and Ireland for “the repair and piano tuning “in art schools on the island, said the Cuban agency Prensa Latina.
The jazz musician Martin visited a piano factory in the capital district of central Havana and while talking with members of the project came Valdes by surprise.

Had little 72 year old, singer and guitarist for Jazz and Rhythm & Blues Snooks Eaglin, died last Wednesday to the Associated Press. The musician, blind since very young, died of a heart attack at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans where he was hospitalized. He had been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
This excellent jazz musician, was known for his peculiar way of playing the guitar. Born in 1936 in New Orleans, soon lost sight of glaucoma. His father gave him a guitar at age six and he only learned to play by imitating the sounds he heard on the radio and accompanied by the harmonica from his father. Read the rest of this entry »
